I did this some good months ago, in between rl things, as a distraction. Since last year or so, I've been reading this incredibly long fic telling the story of Snape's life from beginning to end, and it's been good to have a fic that I know will be updated regularly thrice a week to take my mind off things.
When I started reading it, I was apprehensive because the title sounded kinda corny ("Severus Snape Revealed") but it's been well worth it. It's rare to find a fic about Snape that manages not to be melodramatic and still be captivating. It's style is very gritty and realist to the point of causing me to cringe a few times. The good kind of cringe, not the type I'm used to when reading MWPP era!Snape. It's also funny and engaging. It doesn't really stray from canon, but since we don't really know all that much about his life, the fic fills the gaps in with all kinds of entertaining stuff, and it does feel like a slice of a 'real' Wizarding World, where all of the characters are real people of their own and not just tools for the story. Anyway, it's awesome! So this is my little tribute, although there wasn't a lot of effort put into it because I just couldn't afford to spend much time on art this last semester.
